About me

I graduated from the University of Lancaster in 1987 and went on to qualify as a Clinical Psychologist from the University of Leeds in 1992. Since then, I have held senior positions in the NHS and worked privately. My expertise lies in addressing emotional and mental health needs of people over the age of 14 years. My work is evidence-based, drawing on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), systemic, narrative, solution-focused and psychodynamic therapies to inform my work with clients.

I am an *EMDR Europe Accredited Practitioner. EMDR is a highly effective evidence-based treatment for psychological trauma and can also be used with other emotional conditions. *Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing

I have extensive knowledge, skills, and experience to address a broad spectrum of difficulties which may affect people during their lives. Included are:

Anxiety and associated disorders, Stress, Depression, Low self-esteem, Bereavement, Grief and loss, Obsessive-Compulsive disorder, Chronic Pain management, Addiction/Dependency issues, Relationship difficulties.

I have particular expertise in providing psychological interventions to people with long term conditions such as Psychosis, Bipolar disorder, and Personality disorders.
